Pacu Jawi is a traditional and unique cow race conducted on wet, muddy rice field after harvesting the crop. The race has become a tourism icon at Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatera. Every year, there are four races at Pariangan, Rambatan, Lima Kaum, and Sungai Tarab Districts. These pictures were captured at Sungai Tarab. During the race, there are some side events, including carnival, traditional dances, musical performances, and other recreational activities.
