The Suramadu Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge, connecting Surabaya (Java Island) and Bangkalan (Madura Island). Construction was started on 20 August 2003 and opened for public on 10 June 2009. It is the longest (5,438 meters) bridge in Indonesia. The bridge has two lanes in each direction plus an emergency lane and a dedicated lane for motorcycles. Width of the bridge is 30 meters.
