The Limboto lake was located in the Limboto Regency, Gorontalo. The lake covers an area of approximately 3.000 hectares. There are five rivers (namely the Bone Bolango, Alo, Daenaa, Bionga, and Molalahu) flow into this lake. In the era of 1950’s, the Limboto Lake had a depth of up to 27 m, but due to heavy sedimentation, at present the depth is only about 6 to 8 meters.
Besides fishery, this lake is also one of tourist attraction in Gorontalo.
