Sabilal Muhtadin Mosque was built in 1981 on 10 hectares land in Banjarmasin, facing to Martapura River. This mosque was dedicated to the great ulema Syekh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari (1710 — 1812 M) who dedicated his life for Islam during era of Banjar Kingdom.
Main building of this mosque occupies a total area of 5,250 square meters, can accommodate about 15 thousand prayers. It has a main 45-meter height minaret and 4 smaller 21-meter height minarets at each corners of the main building. Diameter of its main dome is 38 meters, covered with aluminum sheets.
