Historically, almost all of Indonesian cities were established on sea shores or river banks, since the only transportation mode available at that time was water transportation. However, after land transportation (road and railways) were developed, water transportation slowly diminished, especially river transportation. Banjarmasin is one of the exception. River transportation is still a significant public transportation in this city. These pictures were captured at Martapura River, within the city of Banjarmasin.
